I hope this year brings you all the greatness you desire and deserveđ. Let's do this 2023!!
Â
Today was the first day back to school for my kids. I definitely did NOT slay the new year with a punctual and organized return. Nope. It was more of a âwake up kids! Grab what you can and let's not be late to school!â vibe. Snacks and breakfast were thrown at them in the car ride to drop off. But hey, I'm not losing sleep over it. The kids got to school on time-ishđ.Â
And more importantly we had an awesome holiday break!Â
Besides Santa coming, what else did you enjoy doing during the break?Â
We enjoyed hosting parties big and small, fort building, sleep wherever you want nights, decorating gingerbread houses, sledding, trying a new sport, and splashing around a water park.Â
If you are looking for fun indoor winter activities to do with your kids, here's a few:
1. Pickleball- I brought my nephews and kids (ages 7-12) to learn pickleball which is a cross between ping pong and tennis. It was a great way to move our bodies and have fun! Tip- only reserve an hour at your local indoor racquetball court.
2. Indoor water park- We drove an hour to Zehnders Splash Village in Michigan. Tip- book a night at the hotel, because most places give you free passes to the park when you book a room. We played the TIME FLIES road trip game on the way there and back. Made new memories while playing and laughed a lot.Â
3. Movie night -We watched the new Pinocchio movie by Guillermo del Toro (Netflix). We grabbed movie snacks from CVS or 7 Eleven before the kids set up their movie fort.
4. Play games- We played Cards Against Humanity Family Edition. And although it was hilarious, it is NOT family appropriate in my opinion. The game is more for kids ages 12+ because there's talk of nipples, politics, etc. We loved playing Taco, Goat, Cheese, Pizza card game! It's easy, funny and age appropriate.Â
As you start off the New Year with all kinds of self care and help talk, just giving you a friendly reminder that you kicked ass before and will continue to no matter what.Â
Cheers friend to a new year!
